We are now partnering with nonprofits, learning centers, schools, businesses, and community orgs to host writing workshops and youth projects!

Not at all. Many of the authors we work with are first-time writers who simply have an idea or a story they feel compelled to share. Our services are designed to meet you where you are. If you’re starting from scratch, coaching can help you clarify your vision and stay accountable. If you already have a draft, editing services can help refine and strengthen it. Wherever you are in the process, we’ll walk alongside you to make sure you have the tools and support you need.
We specialize in nonfiction projects such as memoir, personal and professional development, spirituality, and books with a focus on social justice or diverse experiences. That said, we welcome projects from a wide range of authors and genres. If your goal is to create a book that makes an impact—whether by educating, inspiring, or telling a deeply personal story—we want to help.
Book coaching is about guiding you through the entire process of writing a book. It often includes regular sessions, accountability, and ongoing feedback on your progress. Editing, on the other hand, happens once you have written material. An editor will review your manuscript and give you detailed notes on structure, language, and clarity. Many of our authors benefit from both—coaching to complete the manuscript, and editing to polish it for publication.
We offer a range of options:
Single sessions for writers who want quick, focused feedback.
Monthly retainers for ongoing support, with a mix of 1:1 sessions, feedback on drafts, and access to group coaching or office hours.
Six-month packages for authors who want long-term partnership while drafting their books.
VIP and Elite coaching packages for those who want a comprehensive “idea-to-done” journey, including manuscript reviews, multiple editing rounds, and even publishing support.
You can learn more about each package on our Services page.
Pricing varies depending on the type of service:
Editing typically ranges from $0.01–$0.05 per word, depending on the level (proofreading, copyediting, line editing, or developmental editing).
Ghostwriting and content writing are billed at $0.10/word or $60/hour.
Coaching starts at $75 for a single session, with packages available from $140 to $8,000 depending on the scope.
Workshops are priced per session and vary by topic, generally ranging from $49–$99 per participant.
Our aim is to keep services accessible while reflecting the value and expertise we provide.
Yes. For larger packages such as the VIP and Elite coaching programs, we can arrange flexible monthly payment plans to make the investment more manageable. We understand that writing and publishing a book is a major commitment, and we want our services to be financially sustainable for our clients.
That’s perfectly fine. You don’t need to commit to a full coaching package or book-length editing if that’s not what you need. Some clients come to us for a single session to work through writer’s block. Others just want a manuscript review before revising on their own. You can choose the services that best fit your project and budget.
That depends! If ghostwriting is what you’re looking for. We can work with you to capture your voice, vision, and message in a way that feels authentic. The process is highly collaborative: you provide the ideas, stories, and direction, and we shape them into a polished manuscript. You retain authorship, while we provide the expertise and structure to bring it all together.
The timeline depends on your goals, availability, and chosen package. With dedicated coaching, many clients draft a manuscript in 6–9 months. Ghostwriting projects may take 3–12 months, depending on complexity. Editing timelines vary by manuscript length, but a developmental edit usually takes 4–8 weeks. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your project in detail and provide a realistic timeline.
While we are not a publishing house, we provide support for self-publishing authors, including basic layout, cover design, and guidance on platforms like Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. For traditional publishing, we can help you refine your manuscript and prepare submission materials. The level of publishing support depends on the package you select.
The first step is to reach out through our Contact page. From there, we’ll set up a free discovery call to talk about your project, your goals, and what kind of support would be the best fit. If we’re the right match, we’ll recommend a service package and create a plan to move forward.
What kinds of writing workshops and classes do you offer?
We offer live writing workshops, self-paced online classes, and short intensive sessions focused on craft, creativity, and book development. Whether you’re curious about memoir structuring, fiction growth, or writing for professional impact, our programs are designed to help you build your skills and finish with confidence.
Can I join a workshop if I’m a complete beginner?
Absolutely. Our writing workshops and classes are built for writers at every level — from students picking up a pen for the first time to seasoned professionals polishing their next book. We meet you where you are, help you grow your craft, and support you in finishing what you started.
How do I partner with Lantern Literary for a workshop or training at my organization?
If you represent a school, nonprofit, company, or community group and want to offer a custom writing workshop, we’d love to collaborate. We’ll work with you to define learning goals, tailor content to your audience (students, staff, or creatives), and handle facilitation, materials, and logistics. Tell us your audience size, topic interests, and target timeline — we’ll create a proposal and timeline to fit your needs.
What’s included in a writing workshop for an organization?
A typical workshop includes a pre-session consultation to clarify objectives, a guided instructional session (live or virtual), hands-on writing exercises, group discussion, and a follow-up resource packet. We can also offer ongoing coaching or feedback add-ons for participants who want deeper support after the workshop.
How much do the writing classes and workshops cost?
Pricing depends on the format (self-paced vs live), class length, and group size. Individual enrollment workshops generally range from $49–$199, while custom organizational workshops start at a higher tier depending on customization and facilitation. During our consultation we’ll provide a transparent breakdown so you know exactly what you’re investing in.
Do you offer continuing support after a workshop or class ends?
Yes — many participants choose to follow up with one-on-one coaching, manuscript review, or additional classes. Our goal is to build a finishing ecosystem: the workshop may be the spark, but we’re here to help writers carry momentum, complete manuscripts, and prepare for publishing.
